What is the purpose of adding categories to my calendar? Is it necessary?

Adding categories to your calendar is a great way to organize your events if you have offer several kinds.  For instance, if you are a day care or a middle school, you may separate your categories by grade level.

 Or say you are a bar/restaurant who not only offers live music, but comedy night, open mic or spoken word events.

Separating your events into categories based on Event type allows for easier organization for your Website Visitors.

 Adding categories is completely up to you and is strictly for layout and organization purposes only.
